She is a versatile young lady who can work well in a team or by herself. Being granted the academic opportunity has helped her grow in all areas of her life, more especially in the retail world.
Her day-to-day duty involves stocking
shelves, filling fridges (in the correct and required order) and providing customer assistance where needed.
She is power hungry for success, and this is exactly what she needed.
So far, the learnership is going so well on my side. During the class time I have learned more about the business and the number, I had more theory about business and the facilitator was very good in teaching. He made sure we all understood what is inside the books.
Now that we are at the workplace, there are lot of challenges we came across, also the environment that I am currently at is very okay even my colleagues are not as bad as I thought. They are willing to teach
more about the products and how to pack them, the other challenge we face is when the customer what to know which product is good and why they should buy it there you have to make sure you sell the
product.
Lucky my mentor at work he’s so good in teaching and he’s a good listener as they are some stuff, I don’t understand which he will help me with.
During this merchandising I’ve learned a lot:
Firstly, I must check the tillpoint;
Check my pricing;
I have learned about the importance of layout;
Make sure my cooler is clean;
Shelves packing;
Storeroom must be perfect;
Stock rotation even taking returns.
The experience I got from working at the shop is how to pack the products accordingly, how to communicate with
customers and also be sure that all the fridges are neatly packed with correct price tags. Not forgetting to check the expiring dates & report damages. And always be on time.
A very good merchandiser.

learnership program because it’s been one of the most positive things i’ve
ever had. I understand that you offer limited opportunities each year
and wanted to let you know how much it means to those of us who
get through.
As an employee working at Dikgabo di kopane company, i’ve learnt so many things. As a learner, the experience taught me about balancing different roles and goals i’ve enjoyed putting what i learnt into practice and especially enjoyed every lesson. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the training being challenged regularly and realizing that learning was actually very motivating.
Thanks to you I probably learnt the most valuable career lesson of all, that arriving late on Monday means no muffins at the morning meeting. Working in an environment such as Dikgabo di Kopane is
my future goal and i hope that one day i will apply for position here.
Thank you once again for the opportunity!
